Microsoft.com has an opening for a Network Programming Analyst. In this role, you will partner across groups both in corporate and around the world to put web analytics best practices into action to drive customer satisfaction and improve business results. Key performance metrics for this position will be to help decrease site abandonment rates; increase customer satisfaction; and developing plans for messaging/marketing optimizations that drive and prove the value of the Microsoft.com network.
The ideal candidate will have a combined expertise in website, audience, and content analytics, project management, business strategy, and online advertising.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic planning for matching content to customer intent across the core Microsoft.com properties
Business Rules modeling based on customer metrics and targeting attributes
Analysis of customer, marketing, and site data to drive targeting and customer strategies
Driving understanding & business requirements with technology partners, cross-company teams
Partner with programmers to understand their business needs/goals and develop measurement plans to a) measure core KPI’s & b) optimize the site/campaign for better results
Create custom scorecards to measure and drive better marketing results
Creating and managing testing for the programming discipline; focused on:
o Multivariate testing (ie, A/B split testing) to drive site optimization
o Analyzing behavioral and attitudinal data and leveraging that data to better understand and improve customer engagement with Microsoft sites and campaigns
Lead the measurement and optimization activities utilizing best practices from the full range of the web analytics discipline, including:
o Online Media analytics
o Site analytics
o Search analytics
o Web 2.0 analyticsDesired competencies and experiences:
5 years of experience in web marketing and/or business analysis
2 years experience with advanced web analytics methodologies such as experimentation, testing, behavioral analysis, surveys and market research
Ability to influence to drive business impact
Critical thinking, analysis, reporting, and problem solving skills
Self starter who can work autonomously and across teams
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate data sources, and proven track record for spotting actionable patterns and trends
Experience regarding digital marketing strategies and their impact on the customer experience
Demonstrate collaborative skills, including the ability to work with international partners in a diverse environment
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex situations in clear terms to management and large groups

In this highly visible role, you will work directly with the CEO, COO and top executive management to drive sales through analysis and optimization of web design and e-commerce path. You will directly impact revenue by creating a world class web experience through creative design, unique content, social media and mobile content for our consumer and institutional businesses.A strong predictor of success for the Sr. Director, Websites Strategy is the ability to bring different perspectives together to create an outstanding web experience, to develop and act on insightful analysis of traffic/conversion patters and to effectively lead a high performing group of professionals.
Key Accountabilities:
* Redesign our website to launch our new V4 TOTALe offering. Ensure the offering is well understood and the site performance is improved.
* Transform our US digital marketing position by improving US Website conversion by 30% and creating a better experiential website, to include depth, navigation, online demo, and social media and mobile content.
* Build a best in class online experience for all Rosetta Stone websites including US Institutional, US Consumer, and European businesses.
* Build a first rate website infrastructure including e-commerce and content management system that allows scalability, transaction stability, and flexible content and design changes.
* Build and launch a new B2B website that supports our institutional sales business.
* Provide thought leadership around web strategy, trends and technologies related to overall commerce direction, social media trends and implications for commerce.
* Optimize e-commerce experience including SEO, navigation, conversion, payment methods, blogs, and affiliate marketing.
* Actively pursue creative and flexible arrangements such as outsourcing and buy (vs build) to deliver on time, on spec and on budget websites.
* Build process to support needed short term changes to website coming from online marketing , international and product needs .
* Deliver on key metrics for online success such as conversion rates, sales and leads. Identify key metrics and analyze and report on them to senior management team. Work closely with sales to deliver results.
* Oversee execution of ongoing web optimization initiatives, including but not limited to search engine optimization, cart funnel analysis…etc.
* Serve as the internal subject matter expert on next generation technologies needed to meet strategic digital-direct marketing objectives in global markets.Minimum Requirements:
* 7-10 years of experience in managing website design, usability and optimization, including online commerce.
* Bachelors degree. BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Website Development or related field preferred.
* Experience managing online marketing activities for multiple, diverse business units.
* A demonstrated ability to plan and execute online marketing strategies for complex, multi-channel businesses
* Specific experience with managing multiple global sites.
* Outstanding interpersonal/communications (oral and written) and analytical skills
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Ability to identify and implement process improvements/best practices
* Passionate, energetic and highly motivated to help a company win in a very competitive, dynamic and fast-paced environment
* Must also have experience in building effective and productive working relationships across teams and organizational boundaries.
